Agricultural Engineer focused on animal production at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Fernando started his career in 2006 as a trainee at the Swine Research Center of Nutreco, in the Netherlands, where he completed his Master’s thesis on piglet nutrition.

Fernando became a Researcher at the center, leading and managing research projects mainly on fattening pigs and Iberian pig nutrition. In 2011 he moved back to Nutreco Spain as Field Trials Coordinator, where he developed a network of commercial farms adapted for field trials. His role was to coordinate, perform, and analyze field trials for the Spanish opcos of the Nutreco group: Nanta, the feed compounder, and Inga Food, the pig integrator.

Since May 2015, Fernando has worked for Lallemand Animal Nutrition as a Project Leader in the Applied R&D Research team. His main responsibilities are to follow the swine-applied R&D projects and technical and R&D support to local sales teams worldwide.
